Software Setup

This guide walks you through accessing and configuring the FastRTK admin software for the first time.

Connecting to FastRTK

Via WiFi (Recommended for Initial Setup)

1. Power on your FastRTK base station
2. On your computer, tablet, or phone, search for available WiFi networks
3. Connect to the network named FastRTK (or FastRTK-XXXX)
4. Open a web browser and navigate to:

   http://192.168.25.1
   

Via Ethernet

1. Connect an Ethernet cable from your computer to the FastRTK base station
2. Ensure your computer is set to obtain an IP address automatically (DHCP)
3. Open a web browser and navigate to the base station's IP address

First Login

1. The dashboard will load automatically
2. Default login credentials are provided with your base station
3. Change the default password immediately after first login

Dashboard Overview

The main dashboard displays:

• Connected Bases - Status of all base stations (if using multi-base setup)
• Active Users - Currently connected NTRIP clients
• Interactive Map - Visual location of bases and connected users
• System Status - Health indicators and alerts

Initial Configuration Steps

1. Set Base Coordinates

Navigate to the position settings to establish your reference coordinates:

• Known Coordinates - Enter surveyed coordinates if available
• Average Position - Let the system average its position (less accurate)
• OPUS/PPP Processing - Use RINEX data for precise positioning

2. Configure GNSS Receiver

Access the GNSS Connect page to:

• Verify satellite tracking
• Configure constellation settings (GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou)
• Set update rates

3. Set Up Mountpoints

Configure your NTRIP correction streams:

• Create local source mountpoints from your GNSS receiver
• Set up relay mountpoints to connect to external CORS networks

4. Create User Accounts

Add NTRIP users who will connect to your base station:

• Set usernames and passwords
• Configure expiration dates
• Set connection limits

Verifying Your Setup

Check Satellite Tracking

• Navigate to the GNSS status page
• Verify you're tracking satellites from multiple constellations
• Confirm signal-to-noise ratios are healthy (>40 dB-Hz)

Test NTRIP Connection

From a rover device:

1. Configure NTRIP client with:

   • Caster Address: Your base station IP or hostname
   • Port: 10000 (default)
   • Mountpoint: Your configured mountpoint name
   • Username/Password: Your NTRIP credentials

2. Verify connection and check for RTK fix

RINEX Data Collection

FastRTK 5.0.0 and forward automatically collects RINEX data as long as the base is running. You can:

• Download observation files from the dashboard
• Configure logging intervals
• Archive data for post-processing
