User Management

FastRTK provides comprehensive user management for controlling access to your RTK corrections. Create accounts for your team, manage subscriptions, and monitor usage.

User Types

Creating Users

Add New NTRIP User

  1. Navigate to Users in the sidebar
  2. Click Add User
  3. Complete the form:
Field Required Description
Username Yes Unique login identifier
Password Yes Auto-generate or enter custom
Email No Contact email for notifications
Expiration No Account deactivation date
Max Connections No Simultaneous login limit
Mountpoints No Restrict to specific streams
  1. Click Save

Password Options

  • Auto-generate: System creates secure random password
  • Custom: Enter your own password (8+ characters recommended)
  • Show Password: Toggle visibility for copying

[Secure Passwords]

Auto-generated passwords are recommended for security. Copy them immediately as they cannot be retrieved later.


User Settings

Subscription Expiration

Control how long a user can access corrections:

Setting Behavior
No Expiration Permanent access until manually disabled
Date Set Access ends at midnight on specified date
Expired User cannot connect, shown in red

Use Cases:

  • Temporary project access
  • Subscription-based service
  • Trial periods

Concurrent Connections

Limit how many devices can use one account simultaneously:

Setting Description
Unlimited No restriction on simultaneous logins
1 Single device only
2-10 Multiple devices up to limit

Behavior when limit reached:

  • New connections are rejected
  • Existing connections continue
  • User receives error message

Mountpoint Restrictions

Control which correction streams a user can access:

Setting Description
All Mountpoints Access to every available stream
Specific Only Limited to selected mountpoints

Use Cases:

  • Different accuracy tiers
  • Project-specific streams
  • Internal vs external users

Managing Existing Users

User List View

The user list shows all accounts with status:

Column Description
Username Account identifier
Status Active, Expired, or Disabled
Expiration Date or "Never"
Connections Current / Maximum
Last Login Most recent connection

Edit User

  1. Click username in list
  2. Modify settings
  3. Click Save

Reset Password

  1. Click username in list
  2. Click Reset Password
  3. New password generated
  4. Copy and provide to user

Disable User

Temporarily block access without deleting:

  1. Click username in list
  2. Toggle Enabled off
  3. Click Save

User cannot connect but data is preserved.

Delete User

Permanently remove account:

  1. Click username in list
  2. Click Delete
  3. Confirm deletion

[Deletion is Permanent]

Deleted users cannot be recovered. Consider disabling instead.


Monitoring Usage

Connected Users

View currently connected users in real-time:

Information Description
Username Who is connected
Mountpoint Which stream
Connected Since Session start time
Data Sent Bytes transmitted
IP Address Client location

Disconnect User

Force a user offline:

  1. Go to Dashboard or Users
  2. Find connected user
  3. Click Disconnect

User's rover will lose corrections until reconnecting.

Login History

View authentication attempts:

Event Description
Success Successful login with timestamp
Failed Rejected attempt with reason
Disconnect Session end with duration

Bulk Operations

Import Users

Add multiple users from CSV:

  1. Prepare CSV file:

    username,password,expiration,max_connections
    user1,SecurePass1,2024-12-31,2
    user2,SecurePass2,2024-06-30,1
    
  2. Go to UsersImport

  3. Upload CSV file

  4. Review and confirm

Export Users

Download user list for backup:

  1. Go to UsersExport
  2. Choose format (CSV or JSON)
  3. Download file

[Passwords Not Exported]

For security, passwords are never included in exports.


Best Practices

Account Security

  • Use auto-generated passwords
  • Set appropriate expiration dates
  • Limit concurrent connections
  • Regularly review inactive accounts
  • Monitor failed login attempts

Organization

  • Use consistent naming conventions
  • Include project/team in username
  • Document user assignments
  • Set calendar reminders for expirations

Access Control

  • Grant minimum necessary access
  • Use mountpoint restrictions for sensitive data
  • Separate internal and external users
  • Regular access audits

Troubleshooting

"Authentication Failed"

Cause Solution
Wrong password Verify credentials, reset if needed
User disabled Enable user account
User expired Extend expiration date
Wrong mountpoint Check mountpoint access

"Too Many Connections"

Cause Solution
Limit reached Disconnect unused sessions
Device caching Restart rover application
Need more Increase connection limit

"User Not Found"

Cause Solution
Typo in username Verify exact spelling
Case sensitivity Check uppercase/lowercase
User deleted Recreate account
