Privacy Policy
Last updated 14 August 2026
FastRTK2Go is published by Discovery Management Group (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what the app does with your information.
FastRTK2Go turns a connected GNSS receiver into an RTK base station. It pairs with your receiver over Bluetooth or a wired accessory connection, reads its satellite data, and relays correction data to an NTRIP caster you choose.
The short version
- We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertisers.
- The app contains no analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
- Location is used to position your base station — that is the app’s entire purpose.
- Your account credentials and saved locations stay on your device.
What the app collects
Location data
FastRTK2Go reads position data from two places:
- Your GNSS receiver. This is the app’s core function. Coordinates come from the receiver over Bluetooth or a wired accessory connection.
- Your phone’s location services. Used to show an approximate starting position, and — on Android — because the operating system requires location permission before an app may scan for or connect to Bluetooth devices. This is an Android platform requirement, not a choice we made.
How location is used. When you operate as a base station, the app sends the base station’s coordinates to the NTRIP caster you have configured, because a caster cannot serve corrections without knowing where the base is. When you operate as a rover receiving corrections, the app may send your approximate position (as a standard NMEA GGA sentence) so the caster can select an appropriate correction source. This is how the NTRIP protocol works and is standard for all RTK software.
Where it goes. Only to the caster you configure. If you use the FastRTK caster at ntrip.fastrtk.com, that data reaches our servers. If you configure a third-party caster, it goes to that operator instead and this policy does not cover their handling of it — check their policy.
We do not build location histories, track your movements over time, or use your position for any purpose beyond delivering corrections.
Account information
If you sign in to a FastRTK account, the app stores your username and an access token on your device so you do not have to sign in repeatedly. Authentication happens against our servers. We do not store your password in the app.
Saved locations
Reference coordinates you choose to save — a name, an optional description, and the coordinates — are stored on your device only. They are not uploaded to us. Deleting the app deletes them.
App settings
Preferences such as update intervals and reconnection behaviour are stored on your device.
Diagnostic data
The app measures connection quality, correction latency, and satellite counts to show you whether your setup is healthy. This is computed and displayed on your device. It is not transmitted to us.
What the app does not collect
- No advertising identifiers.
- No analytics or usage tracking.
- No contacts, photos, microphone, or camera access.
- No crash-reporting service that transmits your data to a third party.
- No data brokers, and no sale of personal information.
Permissions, and why each is needed
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
| Location (fine and coarse) | Position the base station; required by Android before Bluetooth scanning or connection |
| Bluetooth (connect, scan, admin) | Find and communicate with your GNSS receiver |
| Internet and network state | Reach the NTRIP caster and report connection quality |
| Foreground service | Keep the correction stream alive while broadcasting |
| External accessory (iOS) | Communicate with wired Eos receivers |
| Storage | Save diagnostic captures when you explicitly request one |
You may deny any permission. Denying location or Bluetooth will prevent the app from connecting to a receiver, which is its primary function.
Background operation
While broadcasting as a base station, the app keeps running in the background so the correction stream is not interrupted. During this time it continues to read your receiver’s position and relay corrections. It stops when you stop broadcasting.
Data retention
Data stored on your device stays until you delete it or uninstall the app.
Position data sent to the FastRTK caster is retained only as long as needed to operate the service and maintain the correction stream. We do not build long-term location profiles.
Children
FastRTK2Go is a professional surveying tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete personal information we hold about you, and to withdraw consent.
Most data is on your device: uninstalling the app removes it. For anything associated with a FastRTK account, contact us at the address below.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top and post the revised version at this address. Material changes will be announced in the app or by email to account holders.
